Tutorial to SBS Inkigayo (Sign up membership + Apply tickets)

Related post:
"Tutorial to MBC Music Core"

[Updated on 18th Dec 2013]

Pertaining to my previous post on "Guide to SBS Inkigayo LIVE Show"
here's a tutorial on how to register as a member at SBS site,
as well as how to apply for tickets to the show...

* * *

Join as Member

Step 1:
Go to http://gayo.sbs.co.kr/

On the top header bar,
click on the last link "방청신청" (ie "Visit Application") circled in red below

SBS is being sooooooo kind nowadays
that they finally provide an English site for us!!!!
Simply click on "English ver." circled in red below
and you shall see all information in English
(i'm so touched...)

However, sadly, all other steps and webpages are still written in Korean
And hence, here I am translating for you :)
So let's continue...

On the top sub-header bar,
click on the second link "방청신청" (ie "Visit Application") circled in red below

Then click "OK" when the following message box pops up:

Step 2:
Click on "회원가입하기" (ie Join as member)

Step 3:

Click on the fourth option "국외거주 외국인회원" (ie Foreigner living overseas)

p.s. if you are accessing the website in Korea,
you need to click on the third option "국내거주 외국인회원" (ie Foreigner living in Korea)
and you will need an Alien Registration Card when using this option
So if you're a foreigner withouot an Alien Card but is currently in Korea,
I suggest that you ask your family/friend back home to apply for you...

Step 4:
Scroll down slowly, and tick all three "Agree" to agree on the terms and conditions
Then click on the last button "Foreigner in overseas"

Step 5:
Everything is in English, so just fill in your particulars accordingly and submit
Note: Attach and send a copy of your ID card or passport (NOT your photo)

* * * * *

Apply for tickets

Step 1:
Repeat Step 1 above

Step 2:
Type in your Username and Password
then click 로그인 (ie Login)

After logged in to the website, you need to repeat Step 1 again...
Sorry for the confusion, but that's the simplest way I can think of... :P

Step 3:
Scroll down, check your particulars especially IC or passport number
(image shown below may not be the same as what you might have, if you sign up the membership overseas)
Click on the drop-down list "방청일" (ie Visit Day)
and choose the date available
then submit by clicking "방청권신청" (ie Apply Visit Pass)

***NOTE: SBS website was down when I preparing this tutorial, so i couldn't capture the latest Printscreen for this step. I'll update this post again later, but meanwhile, hope you could try to figure it out yourself based on the old printscreen...***

You will then be prompted by 2 pop up windows for confirmation on your application
click OK and OK
and application completed!!!

* * * * *

To check for results

Step 1:
Go to http://gayo.sbs.co.kr/gayo_ticket_confirm.jsp?lang=eng

***Unfortunately, website clashes on my when doing this tutorial, so no further instructions for you all here.. However, since it's written in English, you should be able to continue on your own~***

IF SUCCESS (based on past experience)
There will be a pop up window, saying you're selected to attend the show
(sorry I don't have screenshot for this, as i can't get a ticket this time >.< )
Try click on the buttons there, to get another pop-up, which would be your visit pass, which look like this:

At the bottom of the pass, it says:
- You must arrive one hour before the show
- 13 years old and below are not allowed for visit
- With 1 visit pass, 2 persons are allowed for admission
- The applicant must bring along and present the Identity Card personally prior admission
- Audience will queue and enter the studio according to the visit pass number (ie last 3 digits)
- Visit pass is not transferable

IF FAILED (based on past experience)
A pop-up window without any clickable button will show up:

** The application timeframe works this way:
For the LIVE show on 8th May (sunday),
you should apply it between 28th April (thursday) and 4th May (wednesday);
results will be out on 5th May (thursday),
and just print out the visit pass and bring to SBS on 8th May :)

Hi! Thanks for this blog post! It has been really helpful! I realise you're from NUS too! Mmm.. actually I have a request. I will be going Seoul this weekend and I really wish to attend Inkigayo this Sunday since it will be goodbye stage for Beast, but I think I'm a little late to try for a ticket as I'm still waiting for my sbs account to be processed. It's a Tuesday now and tomorrow is the deadline to apply for this week's show. I was wondering if you could help me apply for a ticket? Please don't feel obliged, I'm just trying my luck, but would be really grateful if someone could help me on this. Thanks! Feel free to contact me at wutdidusay@gmail.com :)

Hi, adexeda!
I've been trying my luck to get tickets as well actually~ but if I really got it for this weekend, I can give you one ticket, since I need one myself to see FT Island :)

Anonymous said...

Thanks! I think I managed to sign up for the tickets afterall. Will let you know if I got lucky too! ^^ Just wondering, have you tried queuing up with the cd for ft island?

Crystal said...

Hello...can you help me??
I was trying to apply for a ticket for next week's show and was going through the steps I found on some Japaneses website with the help of Goggle translation...
I think I applied for the ticket using the 신처하기 bottom from this page http://s.sbs.co.kr/event/newevent_detail.jsp?event_id=EV000035522
but there was no clue as to if my application went through, then I searched and found your guide and tried again following your steps but when I got to Step 3 there was no date for me to choose. Does that mean that I did applied for the show already??

Yuekling said...

Hi Adeceda,
I've never tried Q-ing without tickets before...maybe you can refer to Redpincer's blog for the guide :) By the way, remember to check the result today!!! I failed again, hope you get it!!!

Hi Crystal,
Maybe you can try again with Internet Explorer. Even if you've applied for the tickets, you should still be able to see the dates. In case you "double-apply", they will show you a message saying you've applied before.

Crystal said...

Thank you for your help...
I can see the date with IE and have just applied......
now all I can do is pray...lol
(Google chrome is great when I'm playing Facebook games....but things from some sites well just disappear on me I guess.....OTL)

PS: had a typo in the last post....where's the edit when I need one....lol

Anonymous said...

no i didn't get it too.. :(

Anonymous said...

hi!^^

i just happen to found your blog, which is very helpful. thanks! and i'm gonna be at Seoul next month so i wanna try my luck so i can see 2pm performance at inkigayo ^^

but i just wanna ask, will i get a confirmation email after i join in as a member? cz i didn't get any confirmation email, and i can't seem to login this website yet 8|

Yuekling said...

Hi Crystal!
It's better to view Korean websites using IE as firefox and chrome are not so popular in Korea, and hence these two browser always have problem processing the programming. ^^

Hi adexeda!
So you're going to Q for Beast? Good luck and hope you manage to get in. Enjoy your trip in Korea!

Hi syarinzz!
I believe you're non-Korean living outside Korea right? You might need to send your passport or ID card to SBS while signing up for membership, and wait for their approval. 'Cause I'm in Korea and hence signed up the membership through another method, I'm not quite sure about the procedure after submitting the required documents... Perhaps you can wait for a few days for SBS approval? Feel free to come back if you need more help :)

Yuekling said...

@syarinzz: i mean "a copy of your passport or ID Card to SBS"...

Crystal said...

@syarinzz
I'm also a HOTTEST and I applied for non-Korean living outside Korea...
I did not get a confirmation email either, but a few days after I applied for the membership I could log-in...^ ^

Anonymous said...

@Yuekling
oh yes i am non-korean living outside Korea. now you've told me about a copy of my ID, i just realised that i only gave them my passport size picture! *smacks self* XD;;

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/7/registersbs.jpg/

from the scr cap above, if i tick 'ID Image' means i should scan my ID Card right? thanks for pointing that out. i'll try to apply for the membership again ^^

@Crystal
hey there Hottest!! *waves* ^^
actually i am more to a B2uty but since B2ST has just finished their promos, so I want to watch 2PM instead.
Are you going to watch 2PM at Inkigayo too? I wanna try my luck to apply for the 17th July one. ^^

Crystal said...

@Yeukling
In case I actually get to go, when should I arrive at SBS?
Google translation says something like 14:30 and numerical order??
So the staff start letting us in at 14:30 and in the order of our visit pass number. Therefore I only need to arrive about 2PM??

@syarinzz
Yep...I'm trying for this weekend's CB.My sister is a B2uty, so she's gonna watch GiKwang while I watch 2PM...lol
Good luck to us all:)

Yuekling said...

@Crystal:
Hmm...you first need to show your pass and ID card to the security when arrive, then queue outside SBS gate according to your queue number; for example if your number is 581, you should queue at the line "500-600".
Then starting 14:30, you will then be allowed to enter the gate and queue outside the building entrance.
Then around 15:30 or so, you will enter the studio.
Even if you arrive later than 14:30 (but must be before the studio admission), you will still be allowed to enter the gate and "cut queue" according to your number; that's what I saw people doing last time.

One reminder: Don't drink too much water before the show as you will not be allowed to leave for washroom after you enter the gate >,<

Good luck everyone!! and have fun!!

hello! Am in Seoul right now and tried to sign up for the SBS membership under the Foreigners in Korea section. Got stuck when they requested for my postal code. Tried to put in my address for them to search for the postal code but there are no results... any tips on how i can get pass this? Thanks!! :)

Yuekling said...

Sorry for the late reply!

@syarinzz:
The message means: please double check your Login details...
Hmm...maybe you can try register the membership from the start again?

@Media Lover:
You might need to insert your address in Korean, usually just the "dong" that you're living in, eg Anam-dong (안암동), Sinchon-dong (신촌동) etc. If you need help to translate your address into Korean, I'm willing to help out ^^

hello!
You are so kind to teach us how to register the account step by step.
Actually I am now in Korea, but I am a foreigner. What method can I use to register for an account? I really want to go and watch this !!

Yuekling said...

Hi Jackilian,
Haha I faced difficulties while trying to get to the show as well since there isn't much information available online regarding the procedure to get tickets; this is just a little sharing to other Kpop fans :)
If you are in Korea, you have no choice but to apply as "Foreigner in Domestic" BUT this requires you to have the Alien Registration Card. Alternatively, you have to ask some one overseas (aka not in Korea) to help you apply since their website detects IP address.

Xing said...

Hi yuekling..
Sorry if i missed this information somewhere...
but how many tickets are you entitled to? just 1 or a pair?

Yuekling said...

Hi Xing :)
One pass for 2 persons, including the applicant.

thanks!! after 3rd time i can login to this website, finally!! XD

btw, i applied for this sunday's inki(17July) on last thursday (7 July 2011) so supposedly the result out by today, right?
but then i got this pop up instead; 아직 당첨이 진행되지 않았습니다.
What does it mean? i didn't get the passes? ;~;

Yuekling said...

Hi syarinzz,
Don't worry, it means that they haven't processed the selection yet; results will only be out on Thursday :)

hi i was trying to get a SBS account and this came up once i clicked submit.

안녕하세요. SBS회원 여러분

so is it some problem with their servers or what?

Yuekling said...

Hi ku,
The message only says "Sorry for the inconvenience, we will try to bring you a better service" or something along that line. So maybe it's under maintenance, i think... Perhaps you can try again later to see if the message still shows up.

ku said...

oh thanks for helping! I got it solved~ got an account now! thanks for the guide! hope i have the luck to grab tickets for inkigayo ^^

just one question: do you know how to be audience for kbs' immortal song 2? I wanted to see how foreigners to get tickets to that....

Yuekling said...

Hi ku,
You're welcome! Hope you manage to get tickets to Inkigayo!!

As for immortal song 2... i've tried to search for relevant information on their website, and i think this is the sign-up page:

http://www.kbs.co.kr/2tv/enter/satfreedom/bulhu2/m_01/index.html

The procedure is rather different from the other music shows; instead of getting individual tickets based on "lucky draw", Immortal Song 2 requires you to sign up as a group and provide the "reason you want to participate as a judge". You need to think of "interesting stories" to outshine the other applicants, and post your application onto the message board there...

If you want, I can try to write another tutorial for the show ^^

nyna said...

Hi there, I just applied for a ticket to go on Inkigayo. This is my first time and so I am confused. So if I get choosen then do I get to go and see all the performances or just one group's performance? Also, do they do this every weekend? If I applied today, can I apply again next week? Or how many times can you apply? I mean how many times do they have the performances? Do we need to bring like CDs and stuff to show that we are a REAL fan? Also how do we know who is performing that week? Sorry for asking so many questions, but I hope you can help me!

Thanks!!!

Yuekling said...

Hi nyna,
Yes, if you successfully get the tickets, you are actually going to the live broadcasting show. Hence, you will get to see all the artists on stage, but not all will perform during the "live" broadcasting as they have their parts pre-recorded.

And yes, Inkigayo (as well as the other 3 music shows) is broadcasted every week; you can apply every week and there's no limit to it.

You do not need to bring anything, EXCEPT the confirmation slip and your ID card for entrance verification. CDs are required ONLY IF you are going to queue there early in the morning with the various fan groups, which in this case means you don't have official tickets obtained from the website application.

You can check the artist performance list from websites like: http://www.kpopflash.net/

Hope you get the tickets!!

nyna said...

What are the other three music shows? Do you know how to get into them too? Oh, the website http://www.kpopflash.net/ doesn't work :(

Yuekling said...

@nyna:
Here's the list of weekly broadcasted music show in Korea/Seoul:
- Thursday: Mnet Music Countdown
- Friday: KBS Music Bank
- Saturday: MBS Music Core
- Sunday: SBS Inkigayo

More details to be found here:
http://musical-bell.blogspot.com/2011/03/guide-to-sbs-inkigayo-live-show.html

As for the performers list, I'm not very sure about it; but you can try google for it, there should be several sites having updates and announcement on the details.

Lody said...

Hey! I registered for an account on Music core, but I don't know how to sign up for the performances because i can't read korean. Do you mind helping me out?

Yuekling said...

Hi Lody,

Here's the newly posted tutorial for MBC Music Core. Hope it helps :)

Hi Yuekling,

Your guide has been most helpful in my quest to attend Inkigayo LIVE! I have registered and was able to login to the site but when i click on the drop down list, there was no date for me to select. Does that means there is no Inkigayo on the coming Sunday? D:

Yuekling said...

Hi Terrakaze,
Thank you. You may want to try using Internet Explorer to view the site; I encountered similar problem before, should be able to solve it with IE...

Unknown said...

Hi Yuekling,

I am using Internet Explorer. Guess no luck for me at all :(

Thanks again

Yuekling said...

weihaw's msg:
hi , erm i still dont quite understand how you got the tickets for music core and inkigayo .
can you email me the steps please? because its really tiring reading those korean words . so hard .
thanks alot .
ok actually i know how . but the problem starts with the alien card you talking about.. what is that]
so you mean we foreigner at overseas doesnt need it? we need only our passport no. or IC right?
for eg. at SBS website itself . i tried to reg a acc. they ask for a photo . so i just send them ?
if you are free please email me asap . thanks alot . really need more advices.

Reply:
For anyone (both Koreans and foreigners) residing or accessing the site in Korea, Alien Registration Card is required for membership registration. For foreigners accessing the site outside Korea, only ID card is required (for SBS site). And I think SBS asks for a copy of ID card with photo on it, instead of just a photo.

Anonymous said...

Hello Yuekling!
Greetings from the Philippines! This blog of yours is really helpful. I managed to have myself registered (Though SBS didn't send me an email confirming my registration. Haha.) I just applied for a ticket for the October 16 show. I hope I could watch it live. Haha. Thanks! :D

Yuekling said...

@Terrakaze:
I'm not sure if you're still following this thread, but just want to tell you that there's no Inkigayo LIVE show last Sunday on 2nd Oct; I think that's why the date wasn't showing up. You may want to try applying again.

You're most welcome. Hope you get the tickets!!

Hi Yuekling!

I gt this message after i filled up everything and submitted. I've tried for a few days but same message everytime..

Yuekling said...

Hi xiuying,
It's most likely due to the website server's problem. I suggest to wait and try again other time~

xiuying said...

Hi Yuekling!

Ohh.. I've just tried again today but it doesn't work. Hope it'll be solved soon as I'm going Korea next week and i hope to see FT Island!

Thanks for your help!

Hi Yuekling!

I just tried to sign up again but it's still not working! (my friend helpd me as I'm in Korea now)

I'm wondering if you can help me to ballot for the coming week's show? I really really hope to be able to see FT Island!!

Hope that you are able to help.
Thanks so much!!!

Yuekling said...

Hi xiuying,
I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that I can't help you ballot for the tickets, as I'm no longer in Korea now.

But no worries, here's an alternative to visit the show. Try read this blog, they provide some guides to music shows without applying tickets (well, you just need to buy the CD etc and go there queue early):

http://redpincers.blogspot.com/2011/02/winter-korea-trip-20102011-day-9.html

For FT Island (I'm FT fan too!!!), a hardcore fan once told me that it's possible to visit their pre-recording (if they are doing it) as long as you bring along their CD and Pentastick (the official yellow flag), though official fanclub members have the priority to queue and get the entrance pass first. BUT, these are the info I got during their previous promotion for "Hello Hello". You might want to check with the fanclub for latest update.

Just FYI,
- FT Island official page: http://www.ftisland.com/
- FNC store: http://www.fncstore.com/

Hope you get to see them, which I failed to during the last promotion T.T

what this mean?? thank you

Yuekling said...

Hi,

"로그인 정보를 촥인해주시기 바랍니다" means "Please double-check your log-in particulars."

You might have entered your username and/or password wrongly. Or, you did not sign up properly previously (if this is the first time you are logging in and encountering this problem). Kindly double check.

Unknown said...

>.<
After sign up we must wait for a day
or we can directly to log in?

Yuekling said...

I suggest to wait for at least one working day, since they need to do "verification" for foreigners. Just in case, did you send them a copy of your ID/passport when signing up? Kindly note that it has to be ID card or passport with your name and photo on it... Do try logging in few days later :)

Unknown said...

ok~ I wait for a few days..keke
I think my acc in Mcore is success.
But I'm not sure..
haha
anyway..
MCore and Inkigayo if I don't have a ticket I just try to line up and see my luck right?
But for Mbank, is there any chance to line up? Or MUST have a ticket??
Thank you.. :)

Yuekling said...

For all 4 music show, i.e. Thursdays' Mnet Music Countdown, Fridays' KBS Music Bank, Saturdays' MBC Music Core and Sundays' SBS Inkigayo, you can just go there early in the morning and queue with the fan groups (if any), then you would have chance to go to the pre-recording and/or LIVE show...

I'd suggest this blog for guides to queue for the shows:
http://redpincers.blogspot.com/2011/02/winter-korea-trip-20102011-day-9.html

WoW! I'm so happy to come across your blog! To be frank, I've been cracking my brain to look for ways to watch the korean music shows live. Your blog have really been a very very great help to me. Now being able to create accounts, I can apply for the tickets. May I ask, so roughly the date to apply the tickets for inkigayo, music core is one week before? I am planning to go to seoul this december to watch their xmas special. May I also ask how to apply tickets for the SBS/KBS/MBC gayo daejun? In addition, may I also ask do you have any ideas to apply the tickets for SBS drama awards? Thanks so much!

Yuekling said...

Hi Priscilla,

You're welcome:)
For all 3 music shows (KBS, MBC, SBS), you need to apply the tickets one week prior to the broadcast dates. Please refer to this post for a more detailed explanation, hope it helps (please read the 2nd comment of the post as well):

http://musical-bell.blogspot.com/2011/03/guide-to-sbs-inkigayo-live-show.html

As for the Xmas special, gayo daejun and awards ceremony, I never tried before. Err I'm having exams, so can't really help to research for you now. If you don't mind waiting, you can subscribe to this comment thread and come back next time; I'll try find the info and post it here after I'm done with my exams :)

Pr|sc|LLa said...

Hi Yuekling!! Sure no problem! I will wait for your info once you've finish your exams! Good luck for your exams!! ^^

Yuekling said...

Hi Priscilla,
I tried to search for the drama awards as well as gayo daejeon from all 3 broadcasters, but seems that there's not much info released yet. Exept the dates for the 3 gayo daejeon:

29th Dec: SBS Gayo Daejeon (KST 21:50)
20th Dec: KBS Gayo Daechookje (KST 21:50)
30th Dec: MBC Gayo Daejejeon (KST 21:50)

I came across some info for 2010 KBS Gayo Daechookje, it seems that they only sold/gave out (I'm not sure how they distributed the tickets) around 10th Dec last year. So I guess you still need to wait for a few more days for this year's shows.

I'll try search for it next week or so :)

Hello~
I'm going to Korea for the first time this December and for some reason, I can't seem to fit my entire phone number in...

I live in Canada, so I put 0011 for the country code, then my area code, but I can't fit my (seven digit) phone number in. It only seems to accept 4 digits..

What can I do?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yuekling said...

Hi HJJenny,

I'd suggest you to put in "random" numbers instead of your real phone number. Since SBS Inkigayo would announce the winners of the tickets online (unlike MBC Music Core which announces through text message), I think it's okay even if you don't give them the correct phone number. Hope it hopes and good luck :)

Hi Yuekling~ I try to register account, some part of particular I'm not sure.
1) Telephone coloum : (65) country (65) area code (. ) phone number
- Singapore don't have area code, input 65 same as country code isn't correct? Phone number only allow 4digit number. My phone number is 8digit. How to input?
2) ID image is the photo in our passport? Must be same?
Please advise. Thank you very much.

Yuekling said...

Hi shirleyw0311,

Firstly, 65 as country code for Singapore is correct. But do not put anything into the area code, just start typing in your 8 digits number directly. There should be enough places for a 8 digits number, if I don't remember wrongly. Anyway, you may just trial-and-error with it, the number is not very important, and for inkigayo, you won't be contacted through phone nor sms, so, don't worry too much even if you don't manage to input the correct number at the end.

Next, kindly read the instruction on Step 4 again. You should attach and send a copy of your ID card or passport with your photo on it, NOT just your photo.

Good luck.

Hi Yuekling, application to join member, last part is click ID image, then choose file to attach passport picture, but I can't click the Choose file, can't attach picture. How? Please advise. Thank you very much.

Yuekling said...

Hi shirleyw0311,

Again, please note that you should NOT just submit your photo, but a copy of your passport. It should be the first page with your name, passport number and photo on it.

Try using Internet Explorer while accessing the website; other browsers might not function properly.

Good luck.

shirleyw0311 said...

Hi Yuekling, use Internet explorer to sign out member, after submit, screen pop up message "hello your sbs members, service use are very sorry for the inconvenience. How do you do to find a better service". I tried in several days about 8/9 times but still pop up this message. What is the problem? T.T please help me.

kc said...

Thanks for the wonderful tutorial! I managed to submit my request! I have a question though.. Is there any way to check Inkiyago's schedule? (E.g. which groups are doing pre-recording and what time? )

Yuekling said...

@shirleyw0311:
I assume that there's a problem with SBS server itself, and hence there's nothing we can do except to keep trying every few days. I've seen the same problem before, but it will resolve by itself after a few days. I think the most you can do is to clear all your internet cache/cookies/history, and start a new application again. Just keep trying :)

@kc:
You're welcome. I don't think the schedule will be made available to public. But you may check with the individual fan clubs website. They normally organise "group visit" into the studio for the pre-recording to give support to their own favourite singer/groups.

Hi Yuekling

Thanks for the clear guide on registering for SBS Inkigayo tickets.really appreciate it. Crossing my fingers :)

Do you by any chance has a guide for registering ticket for Immortal Songs 2? I saw your reply in the previous comment...but not sure if you have posted how to go about in the website. How about getting tickets to Yu HuiYeol's Sketchbook?

Thankss in advance...I will be in Seoul from 5 -14 April..hope to get a chance to watch any of these live shows...

Yuekling said...

@Eva:
Sorry but I did not make any tutorials for other programmes, mainly because their application procedure is much more complicated. Unlike the music shows, other programmes require the applicants to write out a story or reasons why you want to go; it's rather "biased" against foreigners who can't read/write Korean.

Anyway, hope you can get the tickets to Inkigayo~

Eva said...

Thanks, Yuekling :) :)

King said...

Hello Yeukling!

I'm currently living in Seoul on exchange and I have been applying for tickets for 3 weeks... Actually I have gotten 5 people + myself to sign up for the last 3 weeks and none of us have won :( Do you know what the chances are of winning?

I really want to go before the end of June and I was wondering if I should get even more people to sign up... like 10? 20? lol
I don't want to be too bothersome but I would really like to go.

How many times have you won inkigayo tickets?

Yuekling said...

@King,

Hi~ I don't really know the probability of winning the ticket, but I do believe that it's purely of randomisation.

I was rather lucky as I got the ticket at the first try. And I did continue applying after that as well, but never got it again.

I've another friend who went for exchange that time; he had been trying for the entire semester, and he finally got it the week before he left Korea. So, just keep trying!!!

If you really want to go, why not try queueing instead of waiting for the tickets? I'd suggest this blog for guides to queue for the shows:

http://redpincers.blogspot.com/2011/02/winter-korea-trip-20102011-day-9.html

Good luck!!!

Hi Yuekling, when I logging my ID,try to apply ticket, for my particular info, 주민등록번호(means I/c or passport number) right? example my I/C number is 800918086345, but they create my info 주민등록번호 :800918-2000000. Isn't correct? if all info is correct, choose방청일, but can't choose, only선택해 주십시요. Example : inkigayo show on 22Apr(sun), can apply from 12Apr to 18Apr(wed)right? I try apply on 12Apr. but can't choose date. Why? Please advise me. Thank you very much.

Yuekling said...

@shirleyw0311,

Hi! For 주민등록번호, it's correct, think they just want to reserve some "privacy" so not to reveal too much info on the screen online.

As for the application date, it's correct that application window is between Thursday till the following Wednesday. I'm not sure why the date is not showing up; but similar cases had happened before, and it's mainly because:

1) they are not having LIVE show that day; or
2) the LIVE show that day won't be taken place in SBS main studio; might be outdoor or somewhere else hence tickets won't be given out as per normal.

You may try again next week (before 18th April) and see if the application is opened, just in case it's some problem with their website and hence the date not showing up today~

Good luck!

shirleyw0311 said...

Thank you Yeukling. Check with you, if my contact number is not Korea phone number, isn't alright? They will inform us via call, email or sms? If successful, should i need to print out email(if notification via email) or just show them my passport? Once again, thanks for your information.

Yuekling said...

@shirleyw0311,

You're welcome. Kindly check the post above for guidelines to check the application results. For Inkigayo, results will be released online and you need to log in to check if you're selected. There's no notification via call/email/sms. If successful, you need to print out the confirmation slip online (check the guidelines on the post), and bring along your IC or passport for verification on the show day itself.

Good luck!!

Hi Yuekling :)
im currently in korea now and i planned to go for m countdown since it was the easiest... but i couldn't get in :C it was too late~ now i want to try to go for other music programs but its too late already to sign up :C so im wondering whether i can enter without a ticket? i really hope i can~ hope you reply me soon~~

Yuekling said...

@Naomi:

Hi! Try read this blog, they provide some guides to music shows without applying tickets (well, you just need to buy the CD etc and go there queue early):

http://redpincers.blogspot.com/2011/02/winter-korea-trip-20102011-day-9.html

Try browse through the other posts on their blog as well, might have info on other shows besides Inkigayo~ Good luck!!

ademoet said...

I did miss-typed on my address.. Can u help me how to edit it? Because it must be the same as passport address right? Thank you

Yuekling said...

@ademoet:

Hi. If you are referring to Inkigayo, it's actually okay if you mistyped your address. From my experience, they won't check your address. Just need to make sure your Full Name and ID number are correct as on your passport / IC.

Hope you manage to get the tickets, good luck!

Hey, I live in Korea, and I tried all four music shows, including mnet but I can't get past the one where they ask for my name and my registration number. They need confirmation? Can you please do a tutorial for foreigners living in Korea?

Yuekling said...

@dongbangasm:

Hi. For foreigners living in Korea, you just have to click on "Foreigner in Domestic" instead of "Foreigner in Korea"; the subsequent procedure is similar and hence I did not make a tutorial for that.

The system will detect your location automatically, and hence you must have the Alien Registration Card if you're trying to sign up in Korea. If you do not have the Alien Card, you can try asking your friend outside Korea to help you register instead.

Hope this clarifies.

Unknown said...

Hello,

I'm also having problems registering as a foreigner in domestic. I get stopped at the point where they ask for your name and foreign registration card. It won't allow me to input my whole number. My arc card is 6 numbers followed by 7. But it only allows me the first 6, and then 5 numbers. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help?

Yuekling said...

Hi,
I registered with my arc one year ago, and it worked fine for me... But sorry, because I'm no longer in Korea and I do not know if they changed the system for "foreigner in domestic", I can't answer your question now. If you want, you can screenshot the registration page and paste it here, then I'll try to see if anything can be done?

Yuxin said...

Hi, I'm trying to be a member on sbs site but it seems like after clicking 회원가입하기, it links me to another page, which is not shown in your tutorial. So can you please help me? https://sbscert.sbs.co.kr/login/member/join/agree.jsp this is the page i got linked to~

Yuxin said...

And oh, if I've successfully applied for the tickets, does it mean that I do not need to queue up early to get into the show?

Yuekling said...

@Yuxin,

Hi, sorry for replying late. Successfully applied for the tickets doesnt mean that you'd get the tickets for sure. I assume that you applied your ticket on the 16th? So I guess the lottery results will be out on Thursday the 22nd.

After checking the results and if you indeed get the tickets, and yes, you do not need to go there early morning to queue. However, I'd suggest you to go there at least one or two hours early, because it's free seating and it's based on first-come-first-serve basis.

Hope this clarifies :)

Claire said...

hi yuekling,
thanks so much for these! was searching in vain for the apply button on the sbs/ kbs/ mbc sites but couldnt seem to find them :(
btw, have you any clue if the procedure is the same for the eoy song festivals on 29/30/31 dec?
thankyou!

Yuekling said...

Hi Claire,

Thank you for visiting.

Based on my experience last year, the information for the year end festivals will not be out so soon. Normally, they will only announce is 1-2 weeks prior to the festivals. I will post the tutorial guidelines as soon as the information is available. You can check this page from time to time if you wish to get the updates:

http://musical-bell.blogspot.sg/search/label/K-pop

However, there'd be a Music Awards by MelOn happening soon. You may want to give it a try if you are in Korea now:

http://musical-bell.blogspot.sg/2012/12/tutorial-2012-melon-music-awards-apply.html

Claire said...

Hi Yuekling,

Thanks so much for the reply! And for the really detailed Melon Music Awards tutorial. I'll be in Korea then and have been trying to get tickets for that via the FB app (http://apps.facebook.com/realmelon_prize/) and twitter RT events but no luck so far. But never knew about this one though, shall give it a try.
Thank you!!

Sincerely,
Claire

Hi Yuekling,

Through your guidelines in this blog, I won tickets to see my idol 2yrs back. But I really hope you can assist me on this again. I think music core has revamped their website and I could no longer see the option 방청권 신청. Hope you can guide me in applying tickers for the show. In addition, I think music bank changes the way it notify winners. I used bing translator and it stated that winners are notify via sms and they are allowed to choose seats on monday and something like sms will be send again on thursday. Ain't sure what it really means. Hope you can help me with it. Thank you so much! =)

Dear all,
The tutorial has been updated. However, some information is missing as the website clashed on me while I was updating the tutorial. If you're in urgent need to sign up for an account or apply ticket on SBS website, you can still try to follow my tutorial :) Good luck!!

Unknown said...

Hi!

Thank you for translating the pages! It's super useful!

I was wondering if you have any ideas on how to get tickets to the end-of-year gayo daejun? I can't seem to find information about this anywhere...

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

I have been reading through your guide and it really helps.
I have some issue with this. After I filled up the details it crashes here to this:
http://img.sbs.co.kr/sw11/error_guide/html/server_over.html

I have hit this error 3 times. Please help if the link still works.

Thank you.

Yuekling said...

Hi Everlyse,
The error says that their server is down due too high traffic, so you might want to try again other day~ Looks like the link still works, just that server is down. Hope this helps :)

Hi, i've been reading your amazing post and the registration was successful (thanks a lot!!)
I've got just one question.
When i go to apply for the ticket, my name and surname are not separated with a space...
Do you think there will be problems because of that?
Thanks a lot again!

Yuekling said...

Hi Chiara,
Great to know that you find these tutorials helpful. As long as the name that you typed in is recognizable/compatible to that on your ID card or passport, there shouldn't be a problem, I think.
Good luck!!

Unknown said...

Hi,I just found your blog. It's very helpful. I wanna ask you some questions. I tried to sign up for 2 times but I couldn't log in and never received any comfirmation email. First time I waited for a week but can't log in. So, I tried again but can't anyway. I have uploaded my copy of passport already. I don't know if I did wrong. When logging in, it said "로그인 정보를 확인 해주시기 바랍니다" I don't know what it means.
Do i have to type the Name of Passport in upper-case alphabets and Surname is first? because when I sign up KBS website, they said so. Hope you could help :) Sorry for my poor English ha ha i'm not good.

Unknown said...

hi :) just asking about the age, i would be thirteen in a months time, but it says 13 and below cant enter, do they mean 13 in korean age? if it is like that does that mean im allowed to enter? thanks!

Yuekling said...

Hi I'm imm, sorry for late reply.
Surname refers to last name / family name. You might want to try sign up again; and reminder, you need to submit a copy of your passport with your name and photo on it (not just the cover). Hope this helps :)

Yuekling said...

Hi Clairee,
It's korean age by default. However, it specifies that "13 AND below can't enter", which translates to "only 14 and above can enter". Hence, you need to be at least 13 years old (international age) for admission.
Hope this clarifies.

Unknown said...

oh thanks! sorry but do you know what is the area code as im from singapore and theres no area code... and i could not leave it blank too. thanks a lot! :)

Yuekling said...

Hi Clairee,
I can't remember what I did for mine. Perhaps you could split your phone number, ie use the first digit as area code? For example, if your number is 91234567, then perhaps you can put 9 as area code, then 1234567 as phone number.

Unknown said...

Ive tried to sign up twice using diff usernames and waited for a week, but i cant seem to log in... Could u help me to create an account? I would really appreciate your help as i would like to try for next weeks inkigayo or gayo daejun. Thanks a lot!!

Yuekling said...

Hi Clairee,

Sorry but I'm afraid that I can't help you create an account as the registration requires confidential information especially passports etc.

Also, sorry to burst your bubbles, but it's a bit too late to apply for this year's inkigayo and gayo daejeon as the deadlines have already passed.

Do try again next time if you happen to be in Korea again :)
